Dear Dr. Kodiak: Regarding your most recent article about taking the temperature of the consumer, ie. "Here's a thermometer, let's take the consumer's temperature right now;" there is some concern among me and my AMA peers as we can find NO record of your medical credentials. As you may have heard, we have been having problems lately with pretenders running around with rectal thermometers and asking the consumer to "bend over and take it up the A--." Although some consumers claim that the experience is not all that unpleasant and tend to jump up and down yelling some drivel about making it on the "hot topic" list, whatever that means, many are offended.
If you are, indeed, a doctor, then I don't need to remind you that Mr. and Mrs. consumer are fine as long as they HAVE a temperature through the next billing cycle. After all, why borrow trouble; all non fatal diseases are just life's way of saying "Pay up, your doctor needs you." The only diseases we worry about are the ones that are nature's way of saying "hello."
Besides, the patient may actually be just fine. As you know, the body is full of germs, bacteria and sundry little nasties that are self correcting and auto-regulated. If we focus on them they are frighteningly bad. As long as the general health of the patient is adequate, however, they cycle up and down but don't do much more than put the patient to bed for short periods of time.
If we are wrong, don't forget that there are many more consumers out there beyond the borders of the Americas that may take up the slack and, of course, we can always make good money on the "darkside," practice of morticia. Ed
PS, if any candlestick or other T/A tools could have predicted the interday reversal of the nasdaq, I would have thought that worth noting. It appears to have been a drop based on sentiment that was not news driven and thus would have seemed a natural for T/A, or am I way off base? |
