I have a new Dell dimension running win 2000 pro with the most recent patch added. I have several problems.

1. Computer crash's often. While in use or not doesn't seem to matter. Screen will turn to multi colored vertical lines for about 5 seconds and then the computer re-boots.

2. Lexmark printer worked initially and now does not communicate with the puter.

This is a post that I copied that gives more input and I would appreciate if anyone has any ideas because I barely know enough about these things to be dangerous.

Now I know that I have the newest patchs and I've installed Norton Utilities. It found a host of problems with the Win Dr and fixed all except 3. It says: Missing Program Files (3 problems) with a medium severity. It says that one or more programs on you computer reference files that are innaccessable or can not be found. This might cause the program to run improperly or not at all. When I repair them they remain as un-repaired and it states that problems were unable to automatically repair or their repair state is undetermined.
Printer deal still doesn't work and when I open the unplug or eject hardware deal in the tool bar the only device listed is a USB device. When I click on properties it says under device status that there is no driver installed for this device and gives a code 28. When I tell it to re-install the driver it search's until it finds it but then says that it can not load that driver. The installation failed because a function driver was not specified for this device instance.
