<<<It is a fantastic LONG-TERM investment....always! >>> Is it really a good long term investment, taking into account taxes paid, repair and maintenance bills and interest paid? If there is no interest paid, opportunity cost of having that money locked up in the house instead of earning elsewhere? I'm not talking about rental properties or undeveloped land...I'm talking about straight single family housing with the owners living in it.
