*OT* Lee, with all due respect, this nation has seen Republican scams and Democratic scams...neither party is immune....they are humans with power, connections, and goodness know what other perks, and that can always get abused from time to time, no matter the party. It is the nature of the human beast, not a political affiliation that is the root. For every Whitewater, there is a Carlyle Group. For every "I didn't inhale", there is a questionable insider stock sale/financing deal or "I can't remember". I only thank goodness for our system of checks and balances that keeps such stuff within bounds (for the most part), a system that many other countries would love (and are dying, literally) to have...
I think demonizing of either political party takes us away from solving the immense problems we have in this country, and I find both parties have some good ideas worth exploring, even if they need tweaking and compromise..
As always, appreciate your immense contributions to SI, and I have nothing further to say on this (and I won't respond either). |
