We have emerged from the era of two or three years ago when valuation was irrelevant. We have entered the era in which valuation is assigned perhaps too great a role in the setting of stock prices. The Enron debacle is going to cause a preoccupation with the quality and integrity of financial statements, and a severe punishing of companies which attempt to make things appear better than they really are.
