The fact that peace is not winning tells me you are right on that point. No doubt in my mind that Arafat is the current head of a serpent that wants to destroy Israel.

Good, we agree on this essential point. The other essential point is that Arafat, disaster that he is, remains in control of Palestinian politics, at least more so than anyone else.

The best way to destroy Arafat is to win the souls of Palestinians

This implies that Arafat's police state would be responsive to their wishes. I don't think so. I don't a majority chose the present course.

Israel's history here is hardly guilt-free, but the incitement Arafat broadcasts on his media, and has broadcast all during the supposed peace process, is really a doozy. Sample quote from offical PA clergy: "Blessed is he who has saved a bullet to put into a Jew's head."

Mowing down their houses, and killing them in bigger numbers then your own losses, is not the way to do that.

Well, that's the evil genius of a campaign of suicide bombers; it's just guaranteed to get a closed border and rough response. What do you think London would do if the IRA began sending suicide bombers to Westminister?

So, why don't the Israelis ensure the kill ratio of Palestinians is below their own losses (for a start)?

How do you suggest they do that? By taking casualties with no response at all, or by purposefully letting more of the suicide bombers get through? Should their official policy be to make no attempt to retaliate against the master bombers? Either method is going to get a very poor public response in Israel, which unlike the PA is a democracy, and responsive to public wishes. And it's unlikely to discourage Arafat or Hamas.
