Carl, it's okay owning USA companies even though they are denominated in US$. The company value is based on global earnings. So even if the US$ plunges, that doesn't hurt my investment provided the earnings are good. Which they will be [in my plan anyway].

The share price of the company will go up and the foreign earnings reported in US$ will too.

But you are right, a stampede out of US$ could be very disruptive. But it's not inevitable, because if Uncle Al and the USA voters keep the economy running well and attractive to alien investors, there is no reason to bail out and invest in some other place.

There are a lot of US companies with a lot going for them. Especially if the global village gets a decent constitution and stays on an even keel.
