US will join Third World in 2050, says Buchanan
WASHINGTON - The United States will be a Third World nation by 2050 and most of the other First World nations will have begun to vanish, according to former presidential aide Pat Buchanan.
It might seem a far-fetched prophecy, but the situation was inevitable, The Washington Times on Thursday quoted him as saying.

The causes were legal and illegal immigration, declining birth rates and the defeat of traditional values in the cultural wars, he said.
'I'm not making predictions so much as I am saying what is happening,' said Mr Buchanan, on tour to promote his book, The Death Of The West: How Dying Populations And Immigration Invasions Imperil Our Country And Civilisation.
'These figures are not from Buchanan but from the United Nations,' said the former aide to Presidents Nixon, Ford and Reagan.
Neither Europeans nor Americans of European descent had a birth rate sufficient to ensure their economic survival, he pointed out, adding that their children would be outnumbered by the descendants of non-European immigrants who had far higher birth rates.
'The reason the West is dying is that people who carry the Western tradition in their hearts and souls are simply dying off,' he said. |
