I don't think they were allowed to sell any of the company contributions that went into Enron stock.
Agreed, those who put all their own money into ENE were guilty of not diversifying, but when you look at how well ENE was doing until recently, you can't blame them.
I don't know if any of this will put W in a bad light, but I bet he wishes that ENE and it's executives had not supported him quite as much. Did you read the Houston Chronicle article at the link in BIA's post.
