We should look at Europe as an example then, where societies had to come to "accept" terrorism (i.e. endure numerous attacks over many years) yet their economies have grown and mostly prospered.

They face the same risks we face from the same groups plus several others with national agendas (ETA, IRA offshoots, Greece's November 17 bunch, etc.)

My guess is that our economy won't experience much dislocation in the future now that our innocence has been shattered and we have to live with terrorism just like everybody else.

And for anyone who thinks we can protect everything everywhere, take Israel as your guide. One of the most security conscious states anywhere and civilians aren't totally safe going out for pizza on a Friday night.

My second guess is that soon we will return to realizing just how safe life is in the US most of the time.

JMHO, as always. Regards.
