Intel already has dual channels program.intel.com and cannot beat Athlon with a single channel. So I'm no sure you understand what you're saying.

Even with these impressive results, the performance potential of DDR is still not entirely exhausted. We already know that at least one vendor (nVidia for X-Box) plans to produce a high-speed 128-bit implementation of DDR main memory for desktop computing. Perhaps others will implement dual channel DDR (or 128-bit DDR) solutions as well. We have every reason to expect further performance improvements from such solutions.

Lets not forget nForce dual channel isnt' a true full channel for the CPU.
