I know, and I'm not sure I agree with you. If you said that the Athlon would be faster if it had 3.2GB/s of bandwidth, then of course I would agree. But it sounds like you are saying that if the Athlon grew in bandwidth, and if the Pentium 4 grew in bandwidth, that the Athlon would get a better performance boost. I am not so sure that is true; in fact, evidence seems to support the contrary. If you overclock a Pentium 4 front side bus, you get appreciable differences in performance. Several web sites have tested and confirmed this. I have seen other reviews where they overclock an Athlon, but it doesn't seem to get the same favorable performance advantages with the extra bandwidth. I would say that if the results from these tests match real world increases in bandwidth, then your statement about the Athlon being more efficient with extra bandwidth may not be true.
