Sorry to hear that - I've never bought a Dell but I understand they're rock solid. I've owned 2 Gateway's and each one has had a monitor issue. I also own a Winbook laptop - never again! My current PC is a custom one from a custom house in Pittsburgh - the only mistake I made was to buy NT but I've recently upgraded to XP Professional and am very happy with it. Bought a webcam for myself and daughter in Colorado so now we video conference several times a week - not like PictureTel but certainly fun and worth it.

Due for a new PC early 2003 - I buy one about every 3 years. Don't know what I'll get - would really like to move to laptops from here on out and probably will do so. Just priced a Dell P3 1GHz, DVD, 256Mg, 15" laptop for $1685 - not bad, not bad at all.
