<< Your interpretation of Russia as a "Wastebasket" is a little out of line imho. >>

It is? They have high levels of pollution, alcoholism and unemployment and despair. They have an awful health care system. Their industry is still under the control of incompetent government bureaucrats.

What is your opinion of the current state of Russia?

<< This would be to admit that a decade of anti-Saddam strategy has failed and sanctions should end. >>

If the sanctions would end, how much of the revenues, taken in by Iraq, would go to the people, and how much would go towards the buildup of his military and of weapons of mass destruction? Saddamn has, and is pouring BILLIONS into the building of personal palaces. Do you feel that Saddamn's big heart for his people, would cause him to divert money away from himself, towards the benefit of the Iraqi people?
