Glenn, Is that true in the sense of physical plant such as wiring and switches ? I thought the different competitors are merely resellers of your local company's wiring. I also thought the only difference is the name on the invoice. In my area there are "different" dsl providers, but it seems they all use the same Ameritch wires that have run to the house since it was built. None of them implies they will dig a new trench and run new wire.

Now in the sase of cable, when you get either Ameritech or Comcast, they arrive with a truck and run wire, and they come into the house and fiddle with stuff. I don't think dsl is like that.
