About 5% of the time, yes, 95% of the time, no. At least that's what I'd conclude given the ratios of 2-way vs. 4-way system sales. Remember that if your bottleneck is disk or network I/O, adding more processors won't help.

Your claim was that 512k cache Foster had no competition from Athlon MP because Foster was for 4-way systems only. Intel's web site says they expect their 512k cache chips to be used in 1 and 2 way servers.

You made a mistake, it's not a big deal, and I'm not screaming LIAR like some (you?) would if the shoe were on the other foot.

But Intel's latest server chips most definitely are facing competition from AMD, and that is certainly part (if not all) of the reason for Intel offering rebates on their new top-of-the-line server chip that isn't even out yet.
