The lights are on indicating the hub is getting a connection with both ports

Each computer can currently access the internet via the hub, just not each other? I would also turn off your firewall on the XPuntil you get this working.

edit: You have the Pro version of XP and are using this method?

mcpmag.com

proseries.com
A share folder or directory must exist on the computer where you are planning to install ProSeries. We will refer to this computer as the server. This folder must also exist as a mapped drive.

To determine if a share folder exists:

Double-click My Computer.
Double-click the drive where you intend to install ProSeries. A share folder will have an icon of a hand beneath a folder.
To determine if the share folder is on a mapped drive:

Double-click My Computer on the server desktop.
Scroll through the displayed icons. The icon will appear as a drive with a network cable connected to it and should state, Share on 'this computer name' (drive letter).

All workstations must see the mapped drive where ProSeries is installed, and the mapped drive must be assigned the same drive letter on all workstations. You should see an icon for the mapped drive in My Computer on all the computer workstations with the same letter drive.
