Nope. Of course not. The average person has no idea when he or she has bought "junk", so it doesn't really matter. Dell's been kicking ass because of ad dollars very well spent, some fabulous TV commercials ("Dude, you're getting a Dell"- great stuff!), and price. Also, when they started, their tech support was pretty darn good, and though it's pretty sucky now, they're still riding that old reputation.
