Bosquedog!

I reformatted after the RAM issue was solved. I took out the old RAM chips which were left in with the newer ones. This left the computer with 2X32 RAM chips.

I took out the Sound Blaster and modem boards and then started the machine in safe mode. This error message appeared:

Error: HIMEM.Sys has detected unreliable XMS memory at address 0200200E. XMS driver not installed. HIMEM.SYS missing. Make sure file is in Windows directory. (I then checked this and it is indeed in the Windows directory) Windows has stopped.

Looking at the above error message, do I have faulty memory chips?

Anyway, I kept going and got to "Windows is now detecting non-plug and play hardware. Got through this when I got "RUNONCE caused an invalid page fault in module CRTDLL.DLL at 0167:7fc1092a. Error loading Explorer.exe. You must reinstall Windows.

Well, this is where I stand at the moment. Will attempt to reinstall Windows tomorrow. Any ideas on the foregoing? I seem to be getting deeper and deeper in the forest without a compass on a cloudy day.

Thanks again for your help thus far.
