Marconi may report fall 3Q sales 11:10 Monday January 14, 2002, Bloomberg.com Marconi will probably announce on January 15 that fiscal third-quarter revenue at its phone-equipment business fell by a third as customers, who include BT, scaled back spending, according to analysts. Marconi's sales of phone gear probably fell to 742 million pounds (EUR 1,202 mln) in the three months ended December 31 from 1.12 billion a year earlier, according to the average forecast of four analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News. The forecasts ranged from 700 million to 780 million pounds. Analysts expect sales in the current quarter will also fall.
