If you own SA miners are you long the dollar or short the rand?

So now rand is going down against dollars and gold and SA miners go up. What happens next? Rand goes up against dollars and gold and SA miners go down? Or rand and dollar ratio stays the same while dollar goes down against gold and SA miners go up? Or?

Thinking about this currency sh*t gives me a headache, but I do believe all fiat will eventually weaken against gold... If I understood the whole interaction of currencies better (including gold), it could probably make an extra buck or two rotating funds into different miners based on their countries and the current exchange rates.

Anybody care to explain how the current currency exchange rates effect gold miners and guess at where we are headed from here?
