I sort of picked up the Verve CD....saw it at the library and checked it out for a couple of weeks.....listening to it off of my CD drive.....

I would say about half of it is first rate, and the other half not as compelling. But when it's good it's great.....it's the perfect example of why we are all burning our own CD's....there's a bunch of tracks here that I will include on my own compilations, but I wouldn't necessarily carry the CD with me to listen to all the way through in the car.

Had a musical family moment this morning.....

A few weeks ago I picked up a copy of Marvin Gaye's Motown classic....What's Going On?. The kids liked it, Original Wife of course doesn't want the music on all the time so she really hasn't listened yet. <g> But Original Puppy No. 4, at age six months, woke up early this morning....and wanted out of his crib. So I put him on the bed and turned the bedside CD player up with Marvin....

And the baby stopped fussing almost from the first notes....and a few minutes later as I was shaving I looked over....and he was picking his little foot in the air and tapping it down on the bed, synchronized with the beat. With a big smile on his face.

The best Motown album of all time IMO....and one that is worth listening to from beginning to end. No tracks to skip on this one.
