Got some emails from a vendor in Peru (or I thought it was Peru, anyway--"Madrid", hmmm) re his selling me some lucuma. Unfortunately his English isn't the best and I don't speak/write Spanish. I'll copy it here. Question: Since Jorge isn't helping me out a whole lot about FOB, does anyone know how it works? Does Jorge ship it to an airport and I have to pick it up there or arrange shipping from the airport to me? How do I pay for the shipping? Sounds very complicated. I did some Zagat research (www.zagat.com) and found a Peruvian restaurant in Redwood City (about 26 miles s. of S.F.) that has lucuma ice cream. Might be less hassle to take a trip there to see if I like lucuma. Also wouldn't have to worry about figuring out how much of the powdered or dried or whatever the type of lucuma Jorge sells that it takes to make homemade ice cream.

Here's the 2nd email from Jorge (still not enough info about shipping), if anyone else is interested in ordering lucuma from Peru:

Dear :

(ME),

100 grams / 1 Kg. it stops both.

The shipment cost is according to the amount that you need and to the airport of arrival in USA.

We waited for greater information of you.

warm greetings
