If my memory is correct I believe it was that issue where she displayed herself. Back in the 80s when I visited in California I just remember the talk and the giggles about what a joke she was.

When we all went backstage after her performance in Palm Springs, I was pretty surprised that such a sweet appearing person had such a mouth on her. One little fireball really. I was not too impressed with her at all and she does have a very colorful background. Riklis was the one who got her the Golden Globe award. There was a friend of Riklis who bought up all the tickets for one of her performances in either Cincinnati or Pennsylvania and he gave ALL of the tickets away to employees, locals etc. The seats were mostly empty even though it was a free ride for everyone. The agent still got his commission tho but I think she was really a tough sell unless Riklis made it worth their while.

I often wonder how those kids turned out. One was a girl named Katy. Pia has to be pushing over 45 now and did get a divorce from her second husband. I do know that she was laughed at a lot. She was about 17 and he was about 47 when they first met. Riklis(they called him Rik)at one time owned Faberge, Cartier and some cruise line. I believe he was either an owner or part owner of Samsonite as I dated a guy who worked for Samonsite and that was the first time I ever heard of Riklis. He also owned the Riviera Hotel where she performed a lot.

I think someone wrote a book about him as he was suppose to be a master at mergers. I liked him when I met him and I guess she kept him young. He had to be one easy going guy to put up with her. lol I am just a gal tho so what would I know. <gg>

I believe my relative was her sole agent for about 10 years and had his office in Riklis's office in LA
