Did anyone see an American Islamic leader being interviewed by Chris Matthews tonight? He was trying to convince people that the Palestinian war against Israel is like the American Revolution because, he claimed, the Americans were fighting against "occupiers" just like the Palestinians are. It doesn't seem like a good analogy though, because in truth both the colonists and the British government were "occupiers" of land that belonged to the Native American peoples. As a matter of fact, both groups were British, so the analogy breaks down even further. It was really a case of one group of British occupiers fighting another, and the issue wasn't over who had a right to be there, but whether the people who were there had a right to self-government.

Now if the Palestinians want self-government, hey, I'm all for it, but it seems like that's not all they have on their minds. All this talk of "occupiers" makes it sound like they just want to get rid of the Jews. I wonder why they never say where they want them to go? Or do they just want them all dead, like Hitler?
