- Pabst Brewing quits brewing. Pabst Brewing closed its last two breweries, those in San Antonio and Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania) breweries; and later sold the Lehigh plant to Guinness North America. Although Pabst is the nation's fourth largest "brewer," all its beer is contract brewed by Miller Brewing.
