To try and "put the screws" to AMD using the method you and Dan seem to advocate would indeed really hurt AMD in the short run, but how would it help Intel in the long run? I don't see that it would help them at all at this point.

Which highlites the differences between the two companies and those who follow each. The AMD view is success is measured by how much damage they do to Intel so they assume Intel must also have the same definition of success regarding AMD. Nothing could be further from the truth. Intel does what's good for Intel, AMD does what's bad for Intel.
