I browsed the negative iMac reviews, the only criticism that has some oomph is the high price. Something tells me that when the initial demand tappers down three to five months from now we'll see this baby sell for less than $1300.

Could that be because Apple announced a $1299 version for March release? :)

I wouldn't expect the high end version to drop below $1500 until this summer. Then you can reposition the line closer to $999, $1299, and $1499 which were established effective price points.

Last go around, the iMac price reductions were somewhat slower than expected. It will depend heavily on how much Apple wants to displace the old iMac at the expense of margins.

We'll learn a lot more financially about the new iMac come April.
