One difference - AMD was on the UPSIDE with impending AthWipers. Today, the AThWIper is in decline and the Hamster is nowhere in sight - and if and when it arrives, it will only be an expensive AThWiper replacement - as no 64 bit OS/applications will be available - and the new chip sets and motherboards will place it in a high cost position for desktops.
