The 3rd item talked about by CNBC, after the 15 cents operating income, and 7B (actually 6.98B) revenues is the capex estimate of 5.5B. Exact words were "bad news for the chip industry". To me, that lower spending is good news for Intel, to slow down spending in that area from the drunken sailor spending of 2001. Problem is Intel's own overspending in capex is considered by these analysts to be good for Intel! A lot of the analysts hone in on that number, because it's easy to understand, rather than learn about the other nuances of Intel's business.
