Well, As a Canadian and not living in the USA I hear a lot of stuff about Enron in the US that washes acrss the border.
I sure looks like the accounting firm was very crooked with their document destruction. I wonder how that will pan out?
As for Bush, I have not heard him say much about it at all. From what I see the administration refused to bail out Enron. That is the correct thing for them to do. Look at all the crap that happened in Japan when the government bailed out debt ridden companies. Same in Korea. At least in the USA we let the birds with broken wings fall to earth, Enron has nothing but broken wings to fly with.
As a charitable act to the small guys who lost part of their pension it would have been nice of him to save it, but I think it would be against the law to save it when there are remedies of various kinds.(sue the principals who stopped them from selling their shares in their accounts, make those principals disgorge their illicit trade profits to the good of those pensioners, etc.

Is this a crime from the Clinton era that just came to roost in the Bush era and he and his party had nothing to do with it and are correct in keeping hands off.

Of course Bushies want to blame the democrats and vice versa, but I think the problem lies with the accounting firm and the rules that allowed those partnerships to hide those debts from the Enron bottom line.
