i was bullish on NG too. but Biggs and Wien do a conference every year for their hedgie clients (usually in the Bahamas, but they did it in NYC this past year). one of the huge consensus opinions among the hedgies that Biggs reported was that the energy equities would do well, especially "gassy" ones. i took that to be a pretty clear contrarian indicator that i didn't want to be anywhere near NG. Patron & I successfully played Patterson/UTI (PTEN), the 2nd-largest US land driller, to the upside, and now I'm thinking that one may see low teens again. Also, check out Hanover Compressor (HC) -- sure I've mentioned it on this thread. they provide natural gas compression services. and they have a TON of off-balance sheet debt. note that with OSX way off its lows HC is hitting new lows today -- not a good sign. also note that Janus is by far the largest holder -- a most excellent sign if you are short <g>. I expect them to get voted off the island (sub $10) before the new year. Cheers
