I've been trading a box style method for the last six weeks or so and my method is scalping four point moves on the nq's off of failed tops and bottoms..

I wanted to short that pop over the days high because I didn't feel it would hold....but I keep tight stops on these plays in case they run away.. the most I've ever taken as a loss is a point...I still can't understand how I could lose 40 points on a stop. and I can't believe people are just dismissing this as part of doing business.. if I'd had any kind of very large position here I could have lost a fortune....

it was a small fortune anyway.. anyway..it was only 11:00.

I agree about not using stops. but I've found it's easier to keep tight stops..my usual stop is 2.5 points.. and just re enter higher if it spikes up and away... nine times out of ten the spike up is met with selling and I can get an entry at the top and scalp out with four points in a jiffy.. my usual trade time is about five minutes tops and often times less than a minute..
