If it's of any comfort, I've been holding CXC at a loss for about the same year and a half as I've held ASE. Big losses, in both cases, as I'd managed in my skillful market timing way, to buy both at their peak. But both were really good companies with good fundamentals, so I held on, even buying more.
About two weeks ago, CXC, for no apparent reason (other than terrific earnings, etc., like ASE) started to move. Suddenly, I've finally got a 10% profit in it and Wall St. is starting to notice....Think I'll probably have a 50% profit by fall.
With a little bit of luck, same thing should happen to ASE....one fine day.
Good luck to all!
