If AMD changes nothing with their model number scheme, then 2.6GHz will come out to a model 3400+. However, I think that model 3400+ will be based at 2.2GHz.

Isn't this discussion a bit premature? AMD will be changing the entire processor core, moving to 64bit, integrating the memory controller. Why would you expect them to change nothing in the model numbering scheme? The current model numbering will probably continue with Thoroughbred / Barton, but with Hammer, the formula will be different.
