I miss the days when I could count on Doonesbury, Shoe, Outland, Far Side and Calvin & Hobbes. Oh there's other cartoons not tackling much serious stuff, but I much prefer those that do.

I agree on Herblock & Dilbert, though didn't Herblock just die? Which leaves me Dilbert, Doonesbury and these newer entries:
