Calpine Says Profit Will Fall, Puts Projects on Hold (Update3)

San Jose, California Jan. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Calpine Corp., one of the biggest U.S. power-plant developers, said earnings will fall this year, and it will put on hold $2 billion of projects because the slowing economy has reduced energy demand and prices.
