What I got at the internet quote , carsdirect.com, WAS the price. (No negotiation of price)
Follow up phone call and e mail was just to confirm the price and set an appointment to pick up the car.

I added ABS and side air bags so the price went up a bit.
Didn't want alloy wheel but I had no choice. That added few hundred buck also.

This is what I would do.

1. Go to a local dealer to test drive the car that you want.
You should KNOW exactly what you want.

2.Get a quote from carsdirect.com and call few dealers and see if they can beat that price.

(Of course, give the local car dealer the qoute and see if they can beat the price, if they can give you the same price then go with the local dealer who spend time to show you the car)

Also get a loan preapproved from Bankone or Peoplefisrt. (It only took few minutes)
If you are buying some unpopular models, you could get low interest rate through dealer.
