With respect to an earlier post. Re "Big bad Israel", I suppose having the USA as a friend makes an impression on UK folk as well. That is the ones who just soak up the media rather then question and interpret it.

You mean Israel is condemned because it is a US ally? Great.

Think about what you told me, that you could not tell from the British media that Israel targets terrorists, while Palestinians targets civilians. Don't you think that is a newsworthy distinction? Don't you think that omitting it falsifies the entire picture? Do you see why people like me talk about anti-Semitism? Do you think we're just imagining things?

Does Israel communicate with the major Arab Nations on a peaceful solution wrt Palestine? That maybe could be more fruitful then the USA talking to the Palestinians.

Sure Israel talks to Jordan. Israel has always had a much better relationship with the Hashemites than other Arab states -- since the Hashemites are half British in their thinking, it's not suprising. But King Hussein washed his hands of the West Bank over ten years ago; no way is his son going to touch that tar baby. I'm sure the talks mainly concern their mutual defense needs from Palestinian terrorists. In 1970, the PLO tried to overthrow King Hussein and they would try again in a cold minute if they thought they could do it.

They talk to Egypt, mostly behind the scenes. Mubarak hasn't been helpful lately. As for Syria, forget about it. Lebanon doesn't exist in any meaningful sense.
