The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Jan. 17, edition that Trojan
Technologies has posted narrower losses in the fiscal first quarter after
increasing its revenue by targeting new markets. A Canadian Press dispatch
to The Globe says Trojan lost $400,000 or two cents a share in the three
months ended Nov. 30, the company's fiscal first quarter. That compared
with a loss of $600,000 or three cents in the previous year. Revenue for
the quarter totalled $18.6-million compared with $18.4-million. The
1-per-cent increase in revenue was mainly the result of increases in
contracts for municipal drinking water, environmental contaminant treatment
and other industrial businesses. Revenue for municipal waste water systems
declined. However, at the annual meeting in London Wednesday, Trojan
announced a number of new contracts that will more than offset those
declines. "The results for the first quarter are in line with the
expectations we established back in October," said Allan Bulckaert,
president and chief executive officer. Trojan stock advanced 15 cents $6.90
on the Toronto Stock Exchange Wednesday.
