It seems Martz would have been right at home with Enron
Martz expects Warner to return today

Rams quarterback Kurt Warner had to go to a hospital early Wednesday morning and missed the day's practice seassion.
He was diagnosed as having the stomach flu and is expected to return today.
"It's probably as serious as stomach flu gets, however serious that is . . . " Rams coach Mike Martz said. "I'm more concerned about it spreading to the rest of the team. It's better to keep him away from everybody else."
Warner remained at home on Wednesday.
"He called me about 4:30 this morning," Rams head trainer Jim Anderson said. "He had been up two or three hours throwing up and he was just concerned that maybe it was irritating his throat."
Warner is still recovering from an injury to his vocal cords that he believes he suffered when he took a forearm to the throat in the regular-season finale against Atlanta. He practiced Tuesday and looked like his usual self, but he did not speak. Signals were called on silent counts.
After he went home, his stomach turned on him. Following the early-morning call, Anderson picked up Warner and drove him to a hospital. Warner spent several hours being treated, and Anderson drove him home around 9:30 a.m.
"It will clear up," Anderson said. "He felt better when we took him home. He'll be back tomorrow."
Rams backup Jamie Martin led the offense at practice Wednesday. Martin had called the plays in the huddle on Tuesday, but Warner ran them. On Wednesday, Martin did both.
"Jamie did real well," Martz said. "He's further along in what we do than I thought. He had a heck of a day out there today. I thought he did outstanding. He's ready to play. I have no qualms or reservations about Jamie. If he had to go in and play today, he'd be in great shape. We'd be fine with him."
Warner is listed as probable on the NFL's mid-week injury report because of the stomach and the throat ailments, but Martz isn't worried.
"We appreciate the concern," Martz said. "It beats the other part of it when nobody cares. He's fine. A lot of guys in the locker room have had it. It seems like it's a one-day bug. I'm sure we'll have him tomorrow." |
