Does "line yield" specifiy what percentage of the lines are online or is it just another word for "yields"? Line yield is (number of wafers out)/(number of wafers in)... In other words, how many wafers made it to end of line without being scrapped. Any manufacturing process should have line yields in the high 90s. Die yield is (# of functional die)/(theoretical maximum # of die). This is the important yield number because it indicates how many salable die you have. You can have 100% line yield, and 0% die yield... Bin split is the percentage of functional die at a specific speed. This is also a very important yield number because it drives ASP (the faster your chips, the more you can charge).
