If you consider Hitler to be a conservative then we are not using the same definition of the word conservative and every time the word comes up we will be talking about two different things.

Tim, that's not true. There are radicals/extremists in every group. There are radical liberals who would require corporations to give money to the poor or that all profits should go to the employees.

You said Hitler was aggressive militarily and that's not typical of conservatives. Then I ask you, how many army generals are liberals? How many liberals are campaigning for the NRA? The conservatives on this thread have made it a running joke that liberals can not wage a war. They claim the liberals don't have the stomach for it nor the guts.

You say that Hitler had more gov't than would meet the approval of conservatives. Maybe. But then Germany needed all that gov't to achieve what conservatives desire, strong control over its citizens......few if any public demonstrations.....conservative demeanor etc. You get what you pay for. Of course Hitler did all of this to the extreme because he was truly sick.

I am sorry if this aspect of the conservative's image is not to your liking but its as true as the 'good stuff' that the conservatives on the thread keep singing the praises of.
