Yields in the high 90s?
Sanders said AMD's investments have also allowed the firm to run its fabs "with yields in the high 90s" percentage range.

--What he actually said was "Line Yield". Line Yield, and Die Yield are not the same thing.

--Line Yield = How many wafers get to the end of the line, vs. how many you start. Scrapped wafers for damage, or handling, or breakage are the usual root cause.

--Die Yield = How many good die per wafer you get.

--Line Yield at >90% for world class fabs is nothing special. You better not be breking more than a few percent of your wafers in-line, but it says nothing about die yields, or how good the Process is. all it means is that AMD drops about 10% of it's wafers, nothing more, nothing less.
