Seems my Cdex is more highly thought of than I assumed. This is about beta8, I am using beta9. If you dig into the site posted by Kayaker it says that cdex has a problem with decoding mp3's with ID3v2 tags. Maybe this was fixed with beta9. I have not had any problems with 3v2's
