I use it mostly as supporting information on volume #'s.
While volume alone can tell one a termendous amount...to
be able to see the size and time of the blocks in one log
can be a very informative indicator as to what kind of
action is taking place.
What I find interesting about the log is that for the most
part it would seem to indicate individual investors backing
out more than any institutional (or heavy hitters) dumping.
With the exception of that 2:13 trade and a few others in
the a.m. most of the drops were not large blocks.
In the speculative field of bio's there is bound to be
the low to mid range investor locked in with say 5-15
thou invested and it don't take much to make them
skittish. We can probably all attest to that. No stock
drops 2+ points in a week + 1/2 and doesn't scare the
b'jeezus out of those folks invested.
It would'nt a reach to surmise that after the news
stating that there would be a delay some investors
decided that their money would bear more fruit else-
where during the lull between now and August and with-
drew thier holdings or folks are going on vaca and
decided to not leave thier money here for the month.
That brings the stock down 3/4's and into the 9 range.
Those just coming in have now seen a substantial drop
and a lot of folks set stops to protect themselves
from serious harm. The stops execute and, of course,
the stock plummets even further. Now everyone's running
for the extra roll of toilet paper and so on and so on.
Now if all is well in Alpha/Beta world the market should
wake up and bring this back into the 9 range rather quickly.
At this point this stock is still a hold for me and
could become a buy. One could, again, surmise that what
we are seeing is the mid summer effect where things
languish because folks are on vaca and such...
Knowing as much (or less) as most of you I
will continue to watch this one closely and
make decisions as the #'s indicate necessary.
I have a feeling that if I get out now I will
regret it later...but that is just a feeling
and based on earlier research into the company.
Bottom line - I'm no help at all...it'll
either go up or down...
