Haven't heard that one before (severe binsplit vs. severe yield problem).

Oh yes, we've discussed that one. It's a real possibility and the only one that can resolve all AMD's claims, assuming about 50% of AMD's die are scrapped before packaging and never added to inventory. That way AMD can claim >90% line yields, "world class die yields"(never mind they still scrap 50% of the functionally good die, 100% capacity utilization and still only ship ~4 million Athlons.
This one is the highest probability in my view.
