Hi Jim,

Sorry, I did not get a chance to hear the BBOX CC either. I hope to get to all that this weekend. I am still trying to clear up the messages/problems that appeared on my desk while I was away. Here is a nice site on consumer electronics that break down the news by segment:

twice.com

They were handing out their magazine at CES. I am still working on my trip report. I will try to post some of my general impressions this weekend. Overall it was not a year where there was a standout killer application. There were a lot of companies pushing DVD players, a few with read/write capabilities. Digital TV with large flat panel displays were big. Once intriguing technology was a Sanyo organic flat panel display. Technology wise it was interesting. Consumer wise may be less so. Home automation is still fragmented and cost is still the issue. From the personal electronics side, it was interesting who was not there. Handspring cancelled in December. Nokia and Ericsson were also a no show. Image and video transfer over wireless to cellular phones seems to be a big theme. I don't know of a useful application for this though.
