As you can tell, I am a big fan of SYMC. I believe they have shown an operating profit every Q since 1993 or 1994. When J. Thompson came aboard and made some structural changes, the company really straightened itself out and caught my attention.

The long-term chart suggests we are preparing for a blue-sky breakout above the low-80s. Once we get there (and it may still take a while in this choppy market), I suspect a massive run, lasting perhaps several years, supported by both technical factors and fundamental factors. In any event, my favorite reading for SYMC is its 10Ks, and to the extent that it's been a few Qs since the last 10K, then the 10Qs will do just fine. I also keep a running chart showing Q-to-Q revenue, expenses and (most importantly) gross and operating margins. This keeps my focused on the longer term during good days (like today) and bad days (like many in 2001). Good luck.
