Dear Professor Dotcomm,

The 13th Tribe by Koestler is a good start. Another Khazar by the name of Kevin Alan Brook wrote a more scholarly book called The Jews of Khazaria by Aronson Press which goes into more detail. On page 303 and 304 he writes, " The adoption of Judaism by Khazars,Alans, Slavs, Cumens, Berbers and other peoples was not an insignificant process to be mentioned only in passing. Rather, conversion and intermarriage have been major factors in the development of Jewish communities in Yemen, Ethiopia, Tunisia, the Middle East, the Caucasus, and central Europe."

"As for why most of the descendants of Khazars no longer designated themselves as Khazars or as descendants of Togarmah, we must remember that CONVERTS are required by Talmudic Law to become part of the overall Jewish community and are considered to be part of the children of Abraham (by adoption). The convert is said, by Talmudic scholars, to be like a newborn child, in possession of a new soul, and any relatives he or she had before conversion are no longer considered his or her relatives."

"When non-Jewish groups accepted the Jewish faith, they also accepted the MYTH of Hebraic decent. Even the Khazars who were converted to Judaism in the light of history regarded themselves as SOMEHOW of the 'seed' and 'blood' of ancient Israel."

Finaly,"that the eastern European Jews are descended from both Khazars and other converts, as well as from JUDEANS ( not the 10 1/2 Northern tribes of Israel that went into captivity in circa 722 B.C. with the Assyrians). The fact that MOST of our people descended from converts does not diminish our Jewish status, since all converts share equally in the Jewish heritage."

In the 13th Tribe page 181, Koestler says, "In the 1960's the number of Sephardim was estimated at 500,000. The Ashkenazim, at the same period, numbered about 11 million. Thus in common parlance, Jew is practically synonymous with Ashkenazi (Khazar) Jew."

He also quotes anthropologist Raphael Patai, " The findings of physical anthropology show that, contrary to popular view, there is no Jewish race. Anthropometric measurements of Jewish groups in many parts of the world indicate that they differ greatly from one another with respect to all the important physical characteristics - stature, weight, skin color, cephalic index, facial index, blood groups, etc."

Jesus said he came for the "Lost Sheep of the House of Israel." Not the House of Judah.

Best Regards,
